Genocide

WELCOME MY FRIENDS TO THE SHOW THAT NEVER ENDS

Step Inside - Step Inside

Welcome to August, 2014. You will find that this is actually formed from recycled November 2012, plus recycled December 2008 - January 2009. I sit helpless as over another three weeks of 'fighting' has resulted in almost 2,000 Palestinian dead.

I am pleased that another three day 'truce' is starting. I hope everyone realises that HAMAS cannot control some of the other more radical organisations in Gaza. I hope that there will be discussion on lifting the Seven year siege on Gaza. It was promised in 2012, but it was never implemented — in part because of sporadic rocket attacks by various armed factions in Gaza. [www.winnipegfreepress.com - dated 10th August,2014]

The world and his wife says "but then HAMAS is responsible for the civilians killed by the Israeli reprisals". How foolish those people are. They are blinded and baffled by the usual 'numbers' answer given by Israel to justify its continuing Genocide.

"HAMAS fired 100 rockets" moans Israel who retaliated with 'only' 10 shells. But they obliterated numerous homes, because as Joan Rivers said "They started it!

DON'T BE SUCKED IN BY ISRAELI NUMBERS.

LOOK AT THE REAL NUMBERS

TOTAL DEAD - ISRAELI - 67 [1] - PALESTINIANS - 1,918  [2]

DEAD CIVILIANS - ISRAELI - 3 [4] - PALESTINIANS - 1,408  [4]

DEAD CHILDREN - ISRAELI - 0 [4] - PALESTINIANS - 452  [4]

THE INJURED - ISRAELI - HANDFUL -  9,840 PALESTINIANS [2]

WATER PLANTS DESTROYED  - ISRAEL - 0% PALESTINE - 100% [5] *

POWER PLANTS DESTROYED  - ISRAEL - 0% PALESTINE - 100% [5] **

NUMBER OF UN SCHOOLS BOMBED -ISRAEL - 0 PALESTINE  AT LEAST 3

NUMBER OF HOSPITALS BOMBED - ISRAEL - 0 - PALESTINE AT LEAST 3

NUMBER OF UN SCHOOLS BOMBED - ISRAEL - 0 PALESTINE  AT LEAST 3

NUMBER OF HOMES INHABITABLE - ISRAEL - A HANDFUL - PALESTINE - 10,000 +

PEOPLE HOMELESS / DISPLACED - ISRAEL - A HANDFUL - PALESTINE - 500,000 [3]

PERCENTAGE OF LAND NOW A 'NO-GO ZONE' - ISRAEL - 0% GAZA - 44%

US UNEMPLOYMENT RATE - 6.2 %

UK UNEMPLOYMENT RATE - 6.5 %

GAZA UNEMPLOYMENT RATE - OVER 50% [2]

NUMBER OF ROCKETS MEANS NOTHING

DEATH, INJURIES, AND DAMAGE
ARE ALL THE REAL NUMBERS TO LOOK AT

[5]    http://mwcnews.net/ dated 10th August, 2014

* Water/Sewerage plant - Previously destroyed in 2006, during Israel's Summer Rain offensive, AND in 2008 as part of 'Operation Cast Lead'.

** Power plant - previously bombed out of action back in 2006, too, during Israel's 'Summer Rain' offensive.

WHY ISRAEL MUST LIFT THE SIEGE OF GAZA

  • People die as a direct result of this day in, day out - 24/7.
  • People die at the borders controlled by Israel while trying to cross for life-saving medical treatment.
  • Imagine if it was your child who died after waiting days at the border because the Israeli border guides would not let you pass?
  • The seven year siege is EVERYTHING.
  • If HAMAS bow to the will of Israel and simply agree a 'quiet' - the people who died in the past three weeks will have died for nothing.
  • If Israel want a lasting 'quiet' all they have to do is agree to discuss the siege with a view to loosening it's stranglehold on Gaza.

  • What do HAMAS and the PLO mean when they say they want to "eradicate Israel"?
  • I stand with them.
  • I hope to see the eradication of the NAME Israel.
  • THE NAME - THE FAKE NAME FOR THE LAND OF PALESTINE.
  • Israel murdered the 'two-state solution' by continuing to build illegal (under international law) settlements by stealing more and more of the Palestinian's land in the West Bank.
  • Now that Israel 'owns' 90% of the land and controls 100% of it.
  • A two state solution is impossible.

NOW ONLY A ONE STATE SOLUTION IS POSSIBLE.

  • The Country is PALESTINE.
  • A One State Solution - A Secular State of Palestine.
  • Example: Do away with the NICE NEW ROADS for the use of Israelis with pot-hole dirt tracks for the use of Palestinians so that everyone can use them!!
  • Who cannot say that is Fair and Just?

  • Who in their right mind can NOT support  apartheid roads?
  • Who in their right mind cannot support the right for trade into and out of Gaza?

  • Who in their right mind can disagree that medicines, and ALL hospital requirements should to be allowed freely into Gaza?
  • In Gaza none of these things have been allowed in and products have not been allowed out.
  • Why?
  • Because Israel is the Jailer of Gaza.
I can understand, even if others can't that if the 'peace talks' do not include Israel agreeing to discuss the siege, there is no point in HAMAS meeting them and there is no point in HAMAS stopping firing it's (almost always) 'November 5th' Rockets, even if it means more attacks by Israel.

And please do not forget (for those who actually knew in the first place) that if a child is over the age of SIX, this is the FOURTH 'war' they have witnessed.

  • 1) Operation 'Cast Lead' - December 2008 - January 2009 This was a horrible conflict, made even worse because Israel REFUSED to all JOURNALISTS to enter Gaza. When I have time I will write some of what I know about this heinous crime where both White Phosphorous and DIME Bombs were used.
  • 2) Operation 'Pillar of Defence' - November 2012
  • 3) Operation 'Protective Edge' - July - now 2014
I used to think the world was sane and that good triumphed over evil. Now I realise that is just an illusion. Just as unreal as Father Christmas and so with that thought, I will say "Goodnight".

0-Tyrannosaurus Rex: King of the Rumbling Spires HD

Alt. Ending for what was be the last Tyrannosaurus Rex Single to feature Steve Peregrin Took, when the duo were going a more more "heavy" and had already ventured into Electric Guitar with Took playing Bass.

Tony Visconti on Steve Took

Tony Visconti talking about Steve Took in Tyrannosaurus Rex. Highly Recommended. Some lovely quotes from Tony! Rock On Tookie Yeah!

Steve Took: Peppermint Flickstick

Blistering Version of the song 'Peppermint Flickstick'  played at the correct speed with a video inspired by both the lyrics and by what Took himself said the song was about. Inspired by the Flake Adverts. Peppermint Flickstick is a song about a man who sees the TV advert for the girl eating her  'Peppermint Flickstick' and spends all his money buying them so he can sit at home and fantasise about the TV ads.

Account of Steve Took live supporting the MC5

Here you can find out the first of the information on the *other* Steve Peregrin Took, while he was in the Margate/Canterbury area, far away from London and his heavy drug using friends there. *
We are delighted to be able to include a video - audio and static image - of a Steve Took gig in Canterbury where he supported The MC5. They received a review of Two Stars, while Steve Took received a review of Four Stars!

* Some of these friends and their liggers are those who when approached about Steve Took asked why anyone would want to write a book about him? Apart from the obvious - "He got to Number One in the Album Charts and into the Top Ten singles chart as one crucial half of the duo Tyrannosaurus Rex" It is input such as that provided by his girlfriends and other people who knew the Real Steve Took who make him more than worthy of a Biography - and maybe even more than one.

How to find Steve Took's Grave

This is a drive around Kensal Green showing the route to take from the entrance by the Crematorium entrance. As you can see you can drive, rather than walk and as long as you park out of the way of others it is perfectly OK to drive round and Park. The last section of the video shows the walk from the site where you should turn off the graveled drive onto the grass 'path'. The map of the site is quite misleading, because it gives the impression that the path to Steve Peregrin Took's Grave is a proper marked, possibly graveled path. It is not. It is simply a grass walk way which is wide enough to walk among by the side of the graves. For More information on Steve Peregrin Took visit his web site - address at the end of the video.

BOLAN FAN COWARD

I periodically Google to see what's happening in relation to Marc Bolan's Shrine. I found a not that recent, but still good page.

But with it was a comment. The nameless person with no profile left a very hateful comment about me. Naturally he didn't use my name, but as there are two females in TAG and the younger one is my daughter who cannot be described as  "main love was Steve Took", so that logically only leaves one other person he could be talking about ... Me.

As for Steve Took ... I'm writing his biography and since when did it become illegal to like more than one musician? This I cite as an example of what a nut man is.

I am pretty sure the man who wrote this and many other similar messages on You Tube and Social Media Sites is is safe and secure in Belfast, writing, as cowards do, from inside his home and with even a stretch of water between him and us.

Cowards like him insult, poke, prod and purposefully disseminate lies to make themselves feel better about themselves.

Cowards like him are NOT men.
Men do not stoop to this level of patheticness.

Cowards like him pick on disabled women.
Men address the husband who is the actual correct person to address any grievances to.

Cowards stalk people for the kudos the get from their 'friends'.
Men do not stoop so low.

Below is what he wrote.

Electric Wind said...Been to the TREE many times, it's such a pity that the lease is owned by a woman whose main love was Steve Took, and who just uses Marc Bolan as an ego trip. A very nasty woman who is disliked by 99.9% of Bolan Fans. We appreciate the work done eg the steps, but the bust looks nothing like Marc Bolan, this is were are Hero died and it belongs to ALL fans of Marc. KEEP A LITTLE MARC IN YOUR HEART.June 8, 2010 at 11:34 AM

If you notice, that insult has been loitering on the internet without the man who wrote the original blog having the good sense (IMHO) to take it down.

My reply Fee said...Dear All. It is a great regret that a small percentage of Marc Bolan fans are quite frankly deranged. There are so many wonderful fans, and nameless idiots like this one give the impression that all Marc Bolan fans are raving loonies.

Dear Electric Wind. What a pity you hide behind a faceless image and a silly pseudonym. As for who I am a fan of. The majority of people consider me to be a huge Bolan fan, because of what I and the other members of TAG have done.
What have you done Electric Wind Nothing, other than spread hateful jealous lies about me. ?

I, like people knew actually knew Marc Bolan know he had good and bad points. Sadly some of his fans only ever want to hear 'nice' things, which detracts from him as a human being. Flawed, but with a fabulous talent and a smile that can still set hearts racing around the globe.

As you well know Electric Wind, the lease is owned by four people and you REFUSE to target your nastiness at the Chairman - Mr. Kevin Warner, because it is easier for you to pick on a disabled woman, than face-up to another MAN.

If I was truly the "very nasty woman" you say I am, I would have had a fence put around the whole thing to ensure people like you could not get to it and vandalise the site as your friends have done in the past.

I am just one of of the four members of TAG. All of us have worked very hard to make and keep the site looking a tribute to Marc Bolan and his band T.Rex, which makes your comment that my main love is Steve Took sound laughable, otherwise I if I was so minded I would have made a Shrine for him, though all who know Took would probably agree that a 'Shrine' for Took would be quite inappropriate.

If I was not a Bolan fan, I would NOT have spent my money (and no one else's) on the Bronze of Marc Bolan which his own Brother described as "a wonderful likeness". I actually 'bailed out' the sinking project because the sculptor had been let down after 18 months and 500 hours of work by the "official" fan club. He was out of pocket and the sculptor was done when they canceled the project and backed out of the deal taking the money they raised with them, rather than pay it to him as they should have done.  :-(

Only after you pay for a second Bronze of Marc will you FAIRLY be able to criticise the one there. One final point - if, as you say, the site belongs to ALL fans, then YOU can pay for the tree surgeon to rectify the mindless vandalism to the tree.

Off you go.

Let's see how many of these "ALL" want to put their hands in their pockets and fund a professional Tree Surgeon. As we have the lease, please let us know when he is doing the work and ensure that all the correct paperwork with regards to the Highways Agency and the Local Council has been done.

It is a weight of my mind that you are going to do the fund raising for it. You shouldn't need more than around £700-£1,000.

Finally, Electric Wind - Do come to the Shrine on the 16th September and express your thoughts to the TAG Chairman in person.

Wine Crucifix 1957/78 by Arnulf Rainer

An earlier piece from my writing course. This one I really liked and so did a lot of other people. We had to choose a postcard and then write whatever thoughts came to mind as a result.

I shout. I scream, but the sightseers pass me by as if they cannot see me. The tourists continue their slow gait, looking at everything but me. Maybe I smell. It's hard not to smell under the circumstances. Occasionally their offspring look my way, but a parent quickly chastises them and pulls them away as they protest, "But Mum! MUM! Look at …"

I watch them disappear as they always do. Some return from time to time. Some linger for a while, where I have been for so long. They sense the pain, agony, and despair. For a brief moment, I hope they will look me in the eye, but they never do. I still stand unseen, unacknowledged. Maybe it is the smell. I do smell, but there doesn't seem to be any way to stop it.

The crosses may appear virgin white to the sightseers glowing in the warm sun. They imagine the leaves smother the trees like admirers around Lillie Langtry. "Shall we picnic here?" they ask each other.

Picnic? Are they mad? Here?
Maybe the entire world has gone mad?
Maybe that is why they ignore me?

I am forever concerned that they cannot comprehend that the crosses are not white. Why do they not see they are stained red? An ignorant glance might suppose it to be red wine. But it can't be, it's too thick, too rich. The rich ruby red that fountains down the crosses is blood. The finest our country ever produced. Blood, which soaks into the mud of no man's land. The twisted shards of humanity doomed to remain, rotting in the blood and mud of no man's land. So many hopes, and dreams, that were lost in the blood and mud of no man's land. Young men, barely out of short trousers seemingly doomed to lie forever in the blood and the mud of no man's land. They are remembered with a cross as a symbol of their sacrifice, their pain, and their agony in the blood and mud of no man's land.

Why did we die?
For the neutrality of Belgium? Surely not?

Suddenly there is a change. A cool breeze pulls me away from the long lines of marble crosses and tourists who never acknowledge me, to a field in the middle of the no man's land. Now I remember, the shell hole, the water. A sea of faces look as I am what apparently is termed "excavated", intact, with my kit and my dog tag. My family have been traced and are soon here photographs and I have grand children. My biggest regret is that my own wee son died before I ever held him. I am found. I am recognised.

I hate the Commercial Ethos of Science

My final assignment for The Art and Craft of Journalism Course

I hate the commercial ethos of science because it has caused peoples' trust to be eroded to such an extent its duel plinth of fact and truth is ready to topple. Most, but not all of those chiselling away at the pedestal are those without scientific backgrounds. They not only mistrust the results, they mistrust the scientists motives and unlike fifty years ago, when science was seen as the way to a 'Brave New World' which would be the answer to all our needs and wants, in the 21st century, numerous people see science as the road to ruin. Are those, who like me mistrust science due to its commercial ethos right? Or is it just a sign of 21st Century Cynicism?

“This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.”
― William Shakespeare, Hamlet

If the drive for scientific knowledge was truth and scientists were obliged to admit when they were shown to be wrong there would be more trust in science and scientists. If research was for the betterment of all, there would be more trust, but I hate the commercial ethos of science because scientists won't or can't hold their hands up and say, "Our experimental design was flawed so our results mean nothing."

I hate the commercial ethos of science because profit, ego, and reputation now drive the majority of research. In academia, supervisors push researchers to manipulate data to allow the supervisors to achieve more publications to their name, so they can move up the ranks from simply being a 'Doctor' to achieve the coveted title 'Professor'. Meanwhile, University funding budgets are based on quantity of research, no matter how flawed it will be shown to be a few years down the line. Quantity over quality dilutes real advances as well as instilling mistrust in the well-informed, increasingly sceptical public.

As an example of why I hate the commercial ethos of science, I am using genetically modified (GM) crops. In the pure altruistic theory of science, GM crops could feed the whole world, by developing strains that are more drought resistant, or could cope with having their roots starved of oxygen by water logging. I hate the commercial ethos of science because GM crops are not developed for the benefit of humanity. They are created to make offensively large, offensively powerful global corporations even more offensively rich. The profit and loss spreadsheets have no room for sentiment or, ethics.

I hate the commercial ethos of science because the science behind the growth of GM crop strains is linked to the development of GM specific herbicides and pesticides. Together these combine to ensure that farmers the world over become trapped in a circle of dependency. Farmers' not only have to buy the seed, they are forced to accept the high prices for the chemicals without which their crop will fail. This results in the latest form of subjugation and exploitation by addiction, equal to that seen in the 18th century in China when the British Government traded opium for China Tea. This time it is on a potentially worldwide scale.

I hate the commercial ethos of science because even those who choose not to buy GM seeds will suffer. GM crops are already spreading their made-manipulated genes via pollen that can travel 10's or even 100's of miles from the source, so that even those who chose not to use GM seed will find their crops becoming addicted to the expensive pesticides and herbicides developed by the profit driven multi-national corporations.

I hate the commercial ethos of science because it is inducing global addictions to the one thing all life needs to survive. Food. I hate the commercial ethos of science because for worldwide food production this is not the end, it is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning. In the near future, countries will find themselves controlled by faceless offensively powerful global corporations, who grow more powerful aided by complicit and corrupt governments. I fear for the future of our children's children because it is they who will be chosen to live or die, as food becomes a viable method of regulating and reducing world populations.

A tangential peek at Phil Ryan

As I continue through my writing course this is the piece for Week Six

To Dream The Impossible Dream

A tangential peek at Phil Ryan

Phil Ryan is an attractive, well-dressed multi-facetted man of 55, described in Wikipedia an “entrepreneur” Behind his achievements which can be Googled in an instant, lies 'the man', who made it all happen. The inner persona, driven to 'run where the brave dare not go' and 'to be willing to march into hell, for a heavenly cause'. It is his sense of pure enthusiasm, which has allowed him to embrace a far broader range of topics than most are willing to attempt. He modestly describes himself as a "Jack of all trades and a master of some" and says one reason for his varied works is that he is "able to compartmentalise” his life, but in his heart, he says, "I am a singer, songwriter and guitarist" and yet his influence on the lives of others, must not be underestimated.

One key aspect of his character is his fascination with Storms. This can be seen by the titles of two of his albums 'Storm Warning' and 'The Storm House' and his publishing Company Storm Books. He recalls as a child being taken on the water in a boat by his daredevil father during thunderstorms. Phil remembers pleading, "Dad this is dangerous" to no avail, but he did grew to love storms so for him the word is charged in many ways. Not only was he aware of the deafening noise and the power of the Storm, but also the utter silence directly after it as the scent of Ozone hung in the air. This assault on all the senses and the deep emotional reactions are probably vital characteristics, which makes Phil Ryan the man he is.

Briefly skimming his biography (so save you the Google), his biography shows a range of skills many aspire to, but few could achieve, unless you were to find yourself fortunate enough to work on a project with the man himself. The complete biography of Phil Ryan, includes his work as an author, playwright, gag and script writer, founder of the 12-bar Club in London, founder of Storm Books, but his "real love", he says is as a singer songwriter, guitarist. One achievement, ingrained into his memory, is fronting the legendary band The Animals to a crowd of 100,000 in Moscow in the early 1990's, where the choking control of communism was only just starting to release its grip. Phil recalls with emotion the audience singing "We gotta get out of this place" which gave the words far more meaning given that every single voice wanted to leave with the band at the end of the gig.

It is clear his willingness to engage with those individuals, young and old written off by 'society' as 'no hopers' show his fundamental character. Phil Ryan is someone who instinctively sees the positive aspects in human beings and allows them to achieve their own previously 'impossible dream'. One part of his career is the formation, with John Bird (MBE) of The Big Issue in 1991. He proudly tells of one homeless man who came to him wanting to write an article about the way some charities use far too much money helping themselves, rather than the homeless they represent. The Big Issue allowed this man to become what Phil Ryan saw - "a brilliant writer", though to most people he was just another person on the street to be 'not seen'. Phil talks of the Big Issue Vendors who "take the brave step to stand on the streets in all weathers," to work themselves out of homelessness. "That is hard," he adds.

"I had a great deal of help when I was young" and his advice to everyone is "Don't stop believing in what you do. People will tell you what you do is not commercial and will try and mould you to their idea of what you should be." These are wise words as are the advice "Be true to what you do." Phil gives advice hoping that those who receive it will listen, because when he was given advice at a pivotal moment in his life he didn't take it. "I don't regret it," he says, but "I do wonder how my life would have been different if I had listened." It is clear his willingness to engage with people written off by 'society' as 'no hopers' show his fundamental character as someone who instinctively sees the positive aspects in human beings and allows them to achieve their own previously 'impossible dream'.

Asked what he would do if he became Minister for the Arts Phil replied enthusiastically. "Give Councils bigger budgets, because that creates jobs. I would change the law to allow empty commercial buildings to be used to allow people of all ages to positively engage with each other to share experiences and skills." In this aging society, Phil is enthusiastic that all ages should be engaged equally. "We live in an ageist country that ignores older people." He explained how these disused buildings could be brought back into use with only a small budget and that older people could feel both useful and appreciated as they pass on the wisdom and experiences to teenagers and younger people, who currently roam the streets through having little to do.

We do not need Phil Ryan as Minister for the Arts. We need his as Arts Czar so he can implement his plans, without the dreadful soul destroying game of politics needed to become Minister for the Arts. Maybe without realising it Phil Ryan's quest is and always has been to allow others to realise their Impossible Dreams.

A profile of Modern Druidism in the Great Britain

Another assignment. This is week Five.

A profile of Modern Druidism in the Great Britain

For the majority of people in Great Britain, the term druid conjures up images of flowing cloaks, secret rituals, and megalithic monuments such as Stonehenge, in Wiltshire. The first record of the druids comes from Greek texts dating from 300 BC and after the Roman invasion of the British Isles, there was a systematic, pernicious attempt to eradicate all druids. The role of druids faded into legend until the early nineteen century when, the name Druid began to appear in Romantic fiction, such as Chateaubriand's novel Les Martyrs (1809) which narrated the doomed love of a druid priestess and a Roman soldier.

With regard to the modern day Druids, the British Museum is blunt "Modern Druids have no direct connection to the Druids of the Iron Age." Despite this, Druid Orders are flourishing and in 2010, The Druid Network achieved official recognition as a religion in the UK when the Charity Commission granted them charitable status. The Druid Network includes a multitude of Druidic Orders across the British Isles. Some are secretive, but most perform rituals in their own areas, which are not specifically private, but are not advertised, though many work with the local community for events such as May Day. These Druid Orders consider their role to be primarily Spiritual, with an additional focus on education for those who wish to learn more about the Earth-Based religion of Gods and Goddesses where the female is as important, if not more so, than the male and the year is made up of a circle of eight festivals.

A few Druid Orders are not part of the mainstream Druid Network. These tend to be very visible and one, The Loyal Arthurian Warband (LAW), is actively anti-establishment. It is as the name suggests an Order of Druids led by and for Arthur Pendragon (ex-biker John Rothwell), a long time campaigner and tree sitter at such unsuccessful protests as the Newbury Bypass. LAW was previously affiliated to the Council of British Druid Orders, until Arthur resigned.

Arthur campaigned for the open access of Stonehenge and was one of a group of people who did force English Heritage to grand "free and open access" to Stonehenge four times a year for the main quarters of the Pagan Calendar. Currently LAW is campaigning for the "bones of the ancestors" to be returned to the ground, which was started by the group Honouring the Ancient Dead, but like other causes LAW made it their own. The members of LAW campaign to raise money to support Arthur's various pickets, 20-a-day habit, and penchant for cider.

Arthur is the Druid equivalent to Marmite. Members of LAW, and those who still wish to return to the 1970 free festivals love him, but he is viewed with varying levels of distain by many, from a variety of walks of life including other Druids and Pagans, English Heritage (EH), the Local Council and residents close to Stonehenge. Arthur's call to arms for a protest outside the new visitor centre at Stonehenge in December 2013 for the return of "the bones of the ancestors" the met with very limited success. Of the expected 50 to 60 protestors, less than 18 showed their support. Originally, the campaign was for the return of cremated bone fragments first excavated almost 100 years ago, which are on loan to a university for research until 2015, after which their location will be reviewed, irrespective of Arthur's campaign. The campaign has now expanded to include the 'Amesbury Archer' who had been displayed in museums for a number of years without problem, but became included in the LAW campaign when it was agreed by EH to display the skeleton in the new visitor centre at Stonehenge.

Arthur spoke after the protest of his disappointment. It is a typical example of his attitude, which wins him little support by the general public or other Spiritual Druid Orders and Pagans in general.

"They are too lazy or can’t be bothered to stand and be counted, in the case of our planned protest for 18th at Stonehenge they find some excuse not to attend, and boy have I heard some hum-dingers this month. They tell me, you see, you’ve been so dam rude that we don’t feel able to stand with you, and of course the usual ‘Druid’ argument, we don’t want to rock the boat, we support you but can’t possibly be seen to stand with you, wouldn’t do our reputation any good. You’re not standing with me you’re standing up for the Ancestors or in most cases not bothering."

From

This issue, like many others has resulted in a range of opinions and Arthur does not deal with those with a differing opinion well. Almost 300 archaeologists and other academics signed a petition in support of retention of the cremated bone fragments and the whole skeleton where the condition can be maintained until new methods allow for further research. Either many Pagans are in favour, or not against the bones being kept safely, agreeing that reburial is not necessarily the best option. Arthur's disdain for the opinions of others is shown when he said

"As for those actively opposing me and the campaign claiming that I am dividing the Pagan community over this issue, I’ve got news for you they have never been anything but divided over any issue you wish to name. Organising Pagans is like Herding Cats. If I really thought that my fronting the campaign was causing difficulties I would willingly step aside, but the truth is, most of them just aren’t interested and resort to using the Anti-Arthur rhetoric as an excuse for their own shortcomings. When we win, for I am certain in the fullness of time we shall be victorious, it will be chronicled who stood with and who against the Ancestors."

It will be interesting to see if he is successful and can chronicle those who stood with him, although Arthur has previously declared victories where there was none. An example is his recent campaign regarding the access to the droves adjacent to Stonehenge. The other parties involved, including the local council and residents saw his appearance at the hearings to be negative to his cause, and although he declared to his followers that he had won the day, the legal documents proved he hadn't.

Merlin was LAW's Arch druid, second only to Arthur, although many were not surprised when a difference of opinion, resulted in Arthur sacked him. Do not expect democracy in LAW, after all, it is run by and for a King.

By contrast, to Arthur, Merlin of England is a man of science, particularly physics and astrology. He has spent years studying the alignment of the stones at Stonehenge, working with an RAF pilot using advanced radar to produce factual proposals for the purposes of Stonehenge and other Neolithic circular sites in the British Isles. Modestly he said, "I am just putting science back into Stonehenge. Astrology is not a science as no Astrologer has ever submitted a paper for peer review. So it is a belief system. You can believe anything you like but that doesn't mean that it is true." Merlin is always willing to listen to dissenting opinions and he is happy to use new theories as the basis to continue to refine his own ideas.

The contrast between these two Druids, both so often included in the media is that while Arthur seeks the limelight whether on his 'Stonehenge Picket' or as he conducts ceremonies at Stonehenge where he knights new recruits to LAW. His life is devoted to 'causes' which he often takes on when the outcome is either almost certain to fail, or almost certain to succeed. Arthur protested for the fences to come down around Stonehenge, and declared

"I will not enter the stones until the fences have gone".

When it was announced that as part of the new Visitor Centre and closure of the road running along the side of the stones, Arthur claimed "We have wonand returned to within the stones, even though the fences still stand!

Meanwhile, Merlin stands a Druid alone, looking tranquil as photographers swoop in like seagulls attracted to a shoal of stranded fish. Merlin remains approachable and always willing to hold an intelligent discussion, but tries to shun the limelight. Merlin gives interviews, when asked, but they do not find their way onto the various media outlets who are usually looking for the 'mad ranting druid' angle and Merlin may wear the Druid Cloak and like Arthur carry a sword, but Merlin's thoughts are too sensible, normal and scientific to be of any use to the Hyena which plague the popular media exemplified by the Daily Mail. Many other Druid orders, like Merlin prefer to shy away from the media and sadly that also means they prefer to visit Stonehenge on the public open access days for fear they become tarred with the 'King Arthurian brush'.

An interview with Max

The continuing writing efforts as I struggle with my assignments for my writing course this is Week Four

An interview with Max by Fee
The first thing anyone speaking to Max sees and feels is Max's immense enjoyment of life. This jovial gentleman hails from the Isle of Wight and rarely stops chuckling. This is doubtlessly because Max is a practitioner of the Chinese art of Shiatsu, which is a form of needle less acupuncture, without the prescription of any Chinese medicines. Many people will find that reassuring, given the possible content of some Chinese Medicines. Max uses thumbs to locate problems with the body, which he then treats by applying pressure to the appropriate point of the node to give relief. For those whose knowledge of acupuncture, needle less or otherwise is limited, Max was happy to explain a little of his methodology, "The whole body is controlled by meridians which are energy lines that run through the body connecting parts, which at first, do not seem connected. They are lines of energy slightly similar to the familiar system of the Chakras, which only use the spinal cord for healing."

Max's fluidity and ability to explain the scientific basis behind this ancient Chinese medicine in plain English allows the majority of people with a basic education to understand the basics. "It is based on the early foetal development where as the foetus develops it undergoes changes where it resembles many forms of earlier life forms before becoming identifiably human". To further add understanding Max continued "Studying the development of the foetus, it is possible to understand more about the meridians and nodes". He used the meridian, which runs up the arm, along the shoulder to the throat and then the nose as an example, "This is the meridian, which controls the lungs". For anyone considering any form of alternative healing, the practitioner should instill the potential client with confidence and Max is certainly such a practitioner so that the experience of receiving Shiatsu from Max is made more beneficial, by his positive disposition and clear bright Spirit.

When max is not thumbing his clients, he has been known to pop into the J D Wetherspoon branch of public houses, not as a customer, but as a Quiz Machine operative. Max is a multi-faceted person and the time constraint regrettably only allowed two of those facets to be briefly illuminated.

FEEDBACK FROM MY INTERVIEW SUBJECT

"That is a brilliant piece of science? writing. My kind of science writing anyway."

My skill in doing exactly what is not required

I THINK THIS POST HAS BEEN WRITTEN WITH SOME FEELINGS OF DESPAIR

I am currently attending a writing course. So far, I seem to be able to do exactly what is NOT required. In fact I would say I am skilled at doing this.

For this interview I was chastised for not using quotes.
What and idiot!
Of course I should have used quotes.
OK Fairy-snuff. I'll accept that as a valid criticism.
I didn't ask the interviewee's surname.
Another valid criticism.
Of the other more damning criticism of being "too scientific", I should have used quotes because all the scientific references were from my interviewee himself.
I do feel that  my BSc Biological Science degree is being held as a very large and hugely negative aspect of my life experiences probably because I can't quote the same 'arty' or 'leftie' writers as those also on the course. I did find a suitable quote completely by accident for Week Three and that was appreciated, even though I felt a fraud because I'd never heard of him or his writing until an accidental 'Google' brought it up and I decided to use it as I knew a bit of "arty-farty" would go down well.
But anyway, I persevere mostly because I've paid for it and because if I do hope to learn something.

*********************************************

As a PS I'd like to add I got the prize at the end of the course for being the student who had shown the most improvement during the course. So to use completely inappropriate language for a writer. I'm going to simply said

"I feel well Dench"

Why I hate Social Media

After not writing on my registered blog for the longest of times, I thought I'd better start writing some stuff. Yes 'stuff' isn't a grammatically correct word, but it is never the less a word which suits how I'm feeling today.

Thank the Gods it's only Monday. I don't want to be late submitting my Hothouse assignment as I attempt to write a piece which isn't classed as an EPIC FAIL.

"EPIC FAIL? What sort of talk is that?you might ask. It is with-it-speech apparently. I will be endeavouring to write a piece which is Well Dench.

In 1993, the Internet was soft, cuddly and safe. It was the days before viruses. And it was generally the days before trolls arrived to purposefully stalk the unfortunate. The term 'troll' was then simply someone, or something out of either Lord of the Rings or the Billy Goats Gruff. I haven't included the Harry Potter books for they had not yet been written.

WHY DO I NOW HATE SOMETHING I LOVED IN 1993?

INTERNET TROLLS
In so many ways, it is now the Internet which is rotten to the core, but Social Media which is infected by people, many of whom really should have been better as a wet patch, or at least a salty mouth rinse.

These people are linked by a common interest such as a dead pop star. They frequently call themselves 'The Family' and suddenly develop extra 'sisters' and 'brothers' who frequently become known as 'sissie' and 'bro'. Am I peculiar in thinking that is odd? I don't think so because outsiders who have experienced some of the interactions between 'family members' have concluded that they are members of a cult and said "The most dangerous mad people are those who don't know they are mad."

The 'family' members usually have so little to actually do they have so much time on their hands they can work their poison, on existing and new members to their 'family'.  and spread like a plague, all linked by a common interest, such as a dead pop star. Then like bacteria in the mouth, they congregate into the human equivalent of dental plaque and as with dental plaque, the human form can also be classed as a metaphorical sticky film which tries to envelope the target. As soon as they have their object in sight, like dental plaque bacteria, they secrete verbal and written acids which not only attack the targeted individual, but also their friends. Those friends who are also 'family members' (cultists) of varying degrees of dedication will split into two distinct forms.

1) Those who also have lives so entwined with the same subject as the plaque bacteria, they are certainly cultists themselves.

2) Those who are not full cult members, but will not defend the individual being attacked for fear they find themselves being targeted too. A friend referred to them as "being able to enter rooms without opening the door!"

In addition, thankfully, there are people for whom the cult subject either holds little or no interest, or they like the same subject, but cannot slide under doors. These people usually have full, busy lives.

As I have been the subject of Trolls, both on the Internet and via the old-age method of the printed word since the tern of the Millennium, it is something which I should be used to. But it isn't as easy as that.

Periodically, when I least expect it, my time is stolen, by those who would ensure I am kept from focusing on the important works which I should be dedicating my time to.

To quote Marc Bolan "People come, people go. Some move fast, some move slow." Many of the Trolls have come and gone, but as one goes it is replaced by another. Some Trolls disappear, only to reappear, like a new cold sore after five, ten, or more years.

TIME TO GET ON WITH MY LIFE
Although it has been hard, finally I am getting things up to date so that I can pick up the project I have farted around with since late 1999/2000.

Then once I have completed that task, I can move onto the long list of other things I would like to do before I pass over to the other side.

On that note (an E Sharp perhaps) I will conclude, apart to add a photo of Mr. Took.
